Hey there!
Welcome back to all the futurists reading today! It’s Thursday and the agenda is the same as always: keeping up with the world and learning something new.
Here’s what we’ll learn about today:
AI has learned to speak (and pretty well) 🔊
How long can Italy stay without ChatGPT?
SlideAI, speed up your GoogleSlide work. 📝
Reading time: 4 minutes and 38 seconds
News Reel:
Highlight 1: Is the future of Podcast changed forever?
Recent development of AI alghoritm make it possible to output high quality convincing and voice. But what can it actually do? Here are a few examples:
ElevenLab offers text-to-audio, check out their super convincing speeches on their website.
Revoice also offers text-to-audio and focuses on professional audio production such as ads or audiobooks. (For parents too tired to read a goodnight story to their kids, well not they have got alternatives 🤯)
Ever been annoyed at “hums“, “anddd“ or other intermissions in a speech? Descript is here to eliminate them!
AI-generated voices are getting so much better, adding natural features such as pauses, and emotions and if trained on the voice of someone specific they will capture the small details of repetitions the person tends to use. Basically cloning your voice 🙀.

I have never been convinced by an artificial voice generator. No emotions, very metallic, and overall not realistic🤖. Well, I had to change my mind.
Keep you ears open and let us know if you think your favorite podcast is now voiced by an algorithm.
Highlight 2: How long can Italy be mad at ChatGPT?
In April, the Italian government banned the use of ChatGPT citing privacy concerns and data misuse. However, rumors suggest that the AI's controversial stance on pineapple as a pizza topping might have rubbed Italians the wrong way. Now, the ban is under review, and new rules could bring ChatGPT back into Italy's good graces 🍍.

Currently, there is an ongoing investigation into OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT. If the concerns are found to be valid, OpenAI may face significant penalties of over 20 million euros.
Recent developments point toward ChatGPT behind reinstituted with stricter age checks and more control over our own data.
Will other countries follow Italy’s example and demand stricter AI regulations? Only time will tell…
