Reading time: 5 minutes and 25 seconds

News Reel:

Highlight 1: Not a normal podcast 🔊

We have featured a few tools to clone your voice and make podcasts in minutes but no … this is easy crazier 🤩.

The YouTuber Jesse (10.5 million subscribers) launched a new mind-blowing podcast called “Not a normal podcast“.

How is this podcast different?

  • The “studio“ for the podcast videos was made and animated in the 3D modelling software Unreal Engine 🖥️

  • The podcast is framed as one (the first) that is hosted by an AI and Jesse helps it interview the guest.

  • Jesse (the cowboy on the right) is actually moving like real-life Jesse, what1? you might be asking. Have a look below 👇

To track the movement in the 3D world Jesse and his guest wear a bodysuit with silver balls that can be tracked using specialized cameras. This technology is what lies behind a lot of VFX in movies📽️.

One more interesting AI fact about this podcast:

  • The cohost Astro (on the left of the youtube thumbnail) is not your typical co-host bus an AI-powered assistant capable of speaking and conversing with Jesse in real-time 🤯. The link below from the company

The AI-powered cohost is the result of inworld.ai and its powerful AI characters. See the video below for a showcase of their technology in videogames 🎮

If you want to subscribe (on YouTube) here is the link.

Highlight 2: It’s not just Drake, the inception of more copyright cases against AI developers may change how generative AI is used.

The US Copyright Office has determined that art created solely by AI is not eligible for copyright protection and only if artists show significant "human authorship" they can register works made with AI assistance🎨.

Some interesting legal cases are emerging on the AI copyright topic:

  • A group of artists are suing AI toolmakers, claiming that they are scraping artists' work to train their models without permission🚫. The lawsuit was filed by three artists: Sarah Andersen, Kelly McKernan, and Karla Ortiz who alleged that Midjourney, Stability AI, and DeviantArt used their artwork without permission to train their AI models. Here’s their whole complaint.

  • The companies filed motions to dismiss 🙅, arguing that the AI-generated images were not substantially similar to the artists' original works and that the artists did not provide enough detail about which specific works were infringed.

Another case involving some important names will heavily influence how future AI copyright cases will be settled.

  • The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. is being sued by Lynn Goldsmith.

  • In the 1980s, Warhol created a series of images of Prince based on a photograph taken by Goldsmith📸. After Prince died in 2016, Condé Nast licensed one of Warhol's images without crediting Goldsmith, leading to a lawsuit over fair use.

  • In 2019, a federal district court ruled in the foundation’s favor. But in 2021, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Goldsmith.

  • The Supreme Court heard the case in October 2022, and a decision has not yet been released, but it could impact how copyright law is applied to AI tools using human-made works🤖.

A.I. Tool Showcase:

Is this the end of Crunchbase and Pitchbook? Let FinChat.io cater to all your needs instead (at least partially for now). FinChat.io solves a simple problem: financial data is often very hard to read and interpret and it takes a looong time to research good and trusted sources✅.

Now you can just ask away and FinChat will give structured and visual answers with sources that you can check and read more about 📊.

Here are a few visuals to showcase FinChat’s answers on a Tesla analysis (all these graphs are interactive which unfortunately cannot capture in this email, so go check out this free AI tool)

When asking FinChat a more open-ended question, I got the following answer which I found funny as this AI bot itself focuses on data and statistics primarily

This AI tool should not be used to blindly guide your investments (and we don’t advise you to do so) but it is an amazing tool to learn and explore financial markets🤑.

Bonus tool: Animated Drawings

We found this tool to be funny and extremely creative. It was developed by the Meta AI research team to bring kids drawing to life.

We put it to the test and in 4 steps for a total of 7 minutes we had an awesome animation of this grandpa image (generated by the author in Midjouorney)

Step 1: Upload your drawing

Step 2: identify the drawing area

Step 3: help the AI with a brush and eraser to recognize your character

Step 4: Fix the joints (the suggestion was already perfect for us)

And lastly, choose among a multitude of animations

Check out the result on youtube here

We had plenty of fun with this! Try it out here and let us know if it helps you be a bit less bored while watching over your younger siblings 🙃

A.I. Art of the Week:

Here are a few images of Elon Musk getting his hands dirty and working on his Tesla and Falcon9:
